Victor and Sarah eloped early last year, but their love for family and celebration motivated them to plan a beautiful reception over Labor Day weekend. Much of Victor’s family flew in from all over the country to lavish their love on this couple. I can tell you in all honesty…there are no two people who deserved it more.
I see this image and I can’t help but think about what a great photographer Tyler has developed into. Thank you, Victor for letting him be a part of the moment!

I love these next shots of Victor and Sarah cutting the cake. Here’s a secret…all but two are Tyler’s images. He’s the best.
Victor’s family immigrated from Vietnam in the 70s. During the toasts, many of his family members stood to introduce themselves and recount stories of coming to this country with nothing but the clothes on their back while looking forward to a better life. On that day, they looked around the room and toasted doctor’s, CEOs, nurses…and most of all…the people that stuck together through the years as they truly came to understand what the American Dream can mean to a family. As I sit here remembering the heart felt words on that night, I have tears rolling down my face. This family showed me what camaraderie means and reaffirmed my pride in being an American.
And…this is where I lost it. Victor is toasting his father and though I couldn’t understand what he was saying (it was in Vietnamese), the tears in his eyes were enough to tell me that he meant every word he was saying.
Um…hello! These girls were serious!

I know I keep saying it…but we’re so thankful to now call this family our friends. Thank you, Victor and Sarah (and both of your families) for welcoming us into your life during such a wonderful night of celebration!
